Everything happens on your device
When you open, drop, or create something with a Pencilbox tool, the work is done right there in your browser tab. Your file is read into your device's memory, processed by code running on your own machine, and the result is handed back to you. Nothing you touch is sent to a server, because there is no server doing the work — the tools are the page you are looking at.
Your files stay on your device. Nothing you open, drop, or create with a tool is ever uploaded, seen, or stored by us — there is no "us" in the loop at all.
No accounts, no tracking, no ads
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to. Pencilbox has no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. It cannot sell your data because it never collects any. The only things saved are small preferences — your language, light or dark theme, and which tools you use most — kept in your browser's own local storage so the site feels like yours. Those never leave your device, and clearing your browser data erases them.
It works offline
Pencilbox is a Progressive Web App. Once you have visited, your browser keeps a copy of the site's own files, so the tools keep working with no connection — on a plane, on the underground, or anywhere the signal drops. You can also install it: look for "Install" or "Add to Home Screen" in your browser, and Pencilbox opens in its own window like a native app.
Free and open
Every tool is free, with no premium tier and no paywalled features. The site is built as plain, static web pages — no heavy frameworks — which is part of why it stays fast and private. A few of the heaviest tools, such as text recognition and background removal, download a one-time open-source engine the first time you run them; even then your files are processed locally and only the engine itself is fetched, never your content.
English and العربية
Pencilbox is fully bilingual. Every tool, label, and help text is available in both English and Arabic, with proper right-to-left layout throughout. Use the language toggle in the corner to switch at any time; your choice is remembered on your device.
A note on trust
You do not have to take any of this on faith. Because everything runs in your browser, you can open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab, and confirm that your files never leave the page. That transparency is the whole point: privacy you can verify, not just a promise.
