Subtitles translates subtitle files between English and Arabic — drop a single .srt or .vtt or a whole batch, and it keeps every timestamp exactly, translates only the spoken lines, sets Arabic to read right-to-left, and gives you the files back. Choose an engine: the built-in browser translator, an on-device AI model for the most natural Arabic, or your own API key. Your subtitles never leave your device with the on-device engines.

Timestamps, cue numbers and positioning are preserved exactly — only the text is translated. The on-device AI engine runs a small language model in your browser with WebGPU (Chrome or Edge on desktop); the first run downloads the model once and caches it for next time, and translation then works offline. The built-in translator is lighter and also on-device but more literal. The API-key engine is optional and sends text to the endpoint you choose. Batch results download as a ZIP. Everything except the optional API engine runs entirely on your device.
